Lake Norman has more than 135 navigational markers that guide boaters around shoals, through bridges and safely to their destinations. But the lighted markers need frequent maintenance and replacement, which is more costly than the Lake Norman Marine Commission can afford. This program allows people to donate money to the effort or adopt an actual marker to keep an eye on it and report problems to the Marine Commission.
