Regulations Prohibiting the Possession of Grass Carp on Lake Norman

This Regulation makes it illegal to kill or possess grass carp within the jurisdiction of Lake Norman. However, it is not illegal to inadvertently catch sterile grass carp and release it immediately back into Lake Norman.
It is expected that the current North Carolina State Law making it illegal to possess sterile grass carp will add Lake Norman to the current list of lakes where it is illegal to catch grass carp. This is expected to occur July 1, 2005.
